Being a teenager is truly bittersweet. Do I really need to say more? Its fantastic and full of new experiences, but it also has it’s ups and downs. In the book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, the author Sean Covey applies a mere but powerful seven habits to teen circumstances and life-changing decisions they go through to help them become the most effective teens they can be. Relatable and amusing, this step by step guide teaches teens to focus on their futures by improving their self image, building friendships, resisting peer pressure, achieving their goals, getting along with their parents, and so much more. Sean Covey has also included cartoons, quotes, diagrams, clever ideas, and relatable and incredible stories about teenagers around the world. This book brings teens into the book and helps them feel “included” every step of the way. I seems as if you have your own little coach inside the book explaining what you are going through! This book has helped millions of teenagers with its meaningful message and direction offered inside the pages of the book.
Educational Value: 5 out of 5 – This book was a very influential book. I have learned many habits and quotes from this book that have changed my life for the better since I have applied them to my own life. The main purpose of this book is to teach you seven habits to make you an effective teen, and I firmly believe it will do just that.
Entertainment Value: 4 out of 5 – The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens was surprisingly a very entertaining and amusing book. I started this book not expecting to enjoy it; just to learn from it. I was unprepared when I found myself laughing and relating to the stories and quotes in the book. I really did enjoy this book.
